Wikipedians Debate Scope of Article on The Holocaust
Is Hawaii a "liberal state?"
That's the question Wikipedians are struggling with in a Request for Comment opened on the article "2024 United States presidential election in Hawaii." A Wikipedia editor who goes by the name Des Vallee has asked for comments on whether the Manhattan Institute can be used as a source to state that Hawaii is a "liberal state." Requests for comment is Wikipedia's primary dispute resolution process when editors can't agree on whether or not to include, or exclude, a specific statement, or use a specific source in the online encyclopedia.
Presently, opinions are against both the phrasing and use of the Manhattan Institute as a source, with editor Aquillon opining that the Manhattan Institute is a "a 'hired gun' sort of think-tank, whose purpose is simply to say whatever will advance the goal it was created to advance."
After a period of discussion - usually 30 days - an uninvolved editor will decide the outcome of the debate.
